Being easy on yourself

As it was World Mental Health day this week, we thought it was a good time to acknowledge the importance of being easy on ourselves.

At the moment we are working on helping our son with transitions. We are trying to look for ways to ease the stress he feels from moving from one place to the next place. Constantly trying to think 2 steps ahead and figure out things from his point of view. Along side this we are focusing on helping him with the sensory side of things to help keep him regulated.

There is also the never ending questions we ask. Are we doing enough? Are we getting the right services? Are we getting enough services ? At these times the self doubt can creep in.

I think sometimes we all need a reminder that it is perfectly ok to feel the way we do. We all have good and bad days and we will continue to do so. It’s not possible for anyone to be happy and upbeat all the time.

What is important though is that we are kind to ourselves. We are human, we are not robots. We are all doing the best we can and that is what matters most.
